Our pastor, affectionately known as Pastor Tom and Dr. Tom, began his duties at North Run on November 1, 1998. Pastor Gaskins is a native of Tampa, Florida where he received Christ as his personal Lord and Savior in the fall of 1959.

Pastor Gaskins committed his life to Christian ministry as a teenager. He believes that Jesus Christ is the only way unto eternal salvation (John 14:6). It is by faith in His sacrificial death that we receive God's divine grace, (Ephesians 2:8-9) which is necessary for the forgiveness of sin. Jesus Christ, the only Son of Almighty God, was born of Mary, in a miraculous birth that changed the course of human history. Jesus lived a sinless life. He is the incarnate God, the perfect Savior. Christ was present in earthly flesh, and following His death, burial and resurrection, He ascended back into Heaven where He now sits at the right hand of God reigning as King of kings and Lord of lords.

Pastor Gaskins believes in and teaches that the Bible is the divinely inspired Word of God (II Timothy 3:16-17), that is the written record of God's revelation of Himself to mankind and is holy, sacred, and profitable for daily living. The Bible is trustworthy and our authority in matters of faith and practice. Pastor Gaskins believes Christians need to focus upon the truth of the Word, living out their faith daily.

Pastor Gaskins believes and teaches that it is exciting to be a Christian and a member of the family known as North Run Baptist Church!
