The chilren at North Run are treated with special care. We offer many programs to meet their special needs.
Nursery and preschool
There is a Sunday School class for each child , beginning with bed babies and going through Kindergarten. These children are taught early on that Jesus loves them. On Sunday mornings they participate in crafts, games, songs, bible stories, and have a snack. During the worship hour there is an extended session for each classroom so that parents can worship without distraction. Four and five year old children are taken into the sanctuary for a portion of the worship time so that they can begin to learn about this service. Nursery and Preschool care is also offered during our First Praise service so that parents can spend time in worship.
Children's Sunday school
Sunday School is an important part of each child's life. Loving teachers work with all children 1st through 6th grade. These children participate in stories, songs, crafts and games. Sunday School is a fun time to learn about God's love.
Children's church
Children's Church is a worship service designed to keep the interest of a young child and to expand on what they have learned in Sunday School. It is for children in 1st through 4th grade. On the first Sunday of each month children are encouraged to attend the worship service so that they may participate in the Lord's Supper.
Children's choirs
There is a choir for each child age 2 through 6th grade all lead by volunteers within the church. The Bible tells us to make a beautiful noise unto the Lord and we start at an early age. Music and Me is offered for all 2 and 3 year olds. This is a time of discovering music through games, stories and crafts. The Preschool Choir is for children age 4 through Kindergarten. This choir is an early introduction to singing in a group to praise the Lord. The Younger Children's Choir is for all 1st through 3rd grade and the Older Children's Choir is for children in 4th through 6th grade. These choirs often sing during the worship hour and celebrate God through musical programs throughout the year.
Missions programs
North Run actively works to spread God's word to the community around us. We begin this process by teaching our children about those in this world who do not know the Lord as well as about the missionaries who are working to spread God's word. Children age 2 through Kindergarten participate in Mission Friends. This is a time to introduce them to their community and world. They learn about missions through stories, crafts, games, food and through community service projects. Girls in 1st through 6th grade participate in Girls in Action or GA's. Boys participate in Royal Ambassadors or RA's. They work to learn more about the needs of their community and world and perform projects to assist in meeting those needs.
